Do Not Call Cell Phone Registry Questions and Answers
Open Question: Anyone have problems with LLM SVCS calls to your cell or home number? Read details below please...?
Approximately 5 years ago I ordered a prescription medication online through a company, now it is illegal for that company to sell this type of prescription online. They have kept previous customers names and numbers and hound them, calling sometimes 5-6 times per day, wanting to offer a medication to you and asking for your credit card...do not be lured into this, it is ILLEGAL for you to purchase the types of medications that they are offering!!! They usually have foreign accents and are very pushy, I had to change my cell number and home phone number, registering with the do not call registry did not work, they are not from the United States and do not comply with our laws! moreResolved Question: What would you say to me if I wrote these lyrics?

My registration is up to date, I have never let it lapse. Yet I'm being bombarded by calls. These are not charities or businesses/services I have ever used or contacted. They are unsolicited sales pitches. They are recordings that go on for several minutes even after you hang up. I live with my mother. She is 81 and has serious health problems. If I had to call 911, I couldn't get through. Cell phone reception here is practically zero so I can't count on that. I want to put a stop to this before something happens. If I report will anything be done? Yes, they speak English with American accents. moreResolved Question: What do you think about this answer to this question?
Should "sexting" lead to sex offender registry? A growing number of teens are ending up in serious trouble, such as jail/prison time, years of probation, and required to register as a sex offender for sending sexually explicit messages via cell phones. How far should "sexting" be penalized? Mr G's Answer--No, sex offender status should not be placed upon young people that "sext." Punitive measures will not solve the problem. Parents need to take responsibility and take away the phones should this become a problem and do what many do not do enough of - talk to their kids. Would it be a little less ridicilous to just block picture mail and text messaging rather than take their phone away so they have no way to call for help if they need it or just for basic communication... I work as a receptionist for a busy office with a 6 line phone. We receive a lot of telemarketing calls, some are recordings, others are real people, all are annoying and a waste of our time. I've heard that answering these calls lets them know that it's a live and active number (therefore they'll call it more) so I don't answer for numbers I don't know on my home and cell phones, but that obviously isn't an option at work. Is there any way that we can reduce the frequency of these solicitation calls so we can better serve our own customers? Thank you. moreResolved Question: National Registry Do Not Call List .....?

Just let me get back and read the answers. moreResolved Question: Spam/Weird Phone Numbers calling my cell...?
Alright, maybe someone out there has an answer for me. Within the last 3 months I have started receiving literally, HUNDREDS of calls a week from odd numbers. No one is ever on the other line and occasionally when there is someone, it's automated. These are not creditors in case you're wondering. Here are some examples of the numbers: 1-234-567-890, 000-000,0000, 555-555-5555,888-222-6666, etc. Does anyone know how to make this stop? I have since paid my wireless carrier extra funds to be able to "block" specific incoming calls; however, with the number combination being 'endless' the calls just keep coming (I am only allowed to block up to 15 numbers). I am also registered with the "Do Not Call Registry." Short of changing my phone number, I am out of ideas. No I did not hand out my number on the internet. I'm in fact pretty good about stuff like that. However, During this last Christmas season, I also encountered credit card fraud with 3 of my cards and also 1 of my husbands. Your statement makes me wonder if this has something to do with my regular mail service now. I also shred all important paperwork, IE: bills, banking, etc. Yep...Padlocked online banking. Nope, cell is strictly just that. Thanks for your advice...at least YOU were helpful. moreResolved Question: Is there a website for a DO NOT CALL REGISTRY for cell phone numbers?

Has one been established yet for cells? If so, do you have the web site? moreResolved Question: Telemarketers keep on calling my cell phone?

Please help, I already registered 2 months ago, isn't this illegal?! moreResolved Question: Is there a "do not text" registry?
I know there is a way to have your phone number protected from advertisers with a do not call registry, but is there anything like that to protect my cell phone from advertisers texting me? I pay per message and my provider (verizon) says there is no way to block them. Thanks for any help! moreResolved Question: Can you register a cell phone with Do Not Call Registry?
I thought I remembered seeing somewhere that it didn't work on cell phones but I'm getting a gazillion calls from Florida today and they're interrupting me while I'm trying to work and it's all stupid "You've won a billion dollars" phone calls and I just want them to stop. moreResolved Question: Are registered child molesters allowed to take pictures of kids?
Today my 8 year old son was riding his scooter around the block and he came running in to let me know that the man in a house was taking a picture of him as he was riding down the road with his cell phone. The house that he pointed out to me is on the national registry online for a registered sex offender and his crime was child molestation. So I called the police and told them that I am a little uneasy about him taking a picture of my son and does not sound good. Basically they said they cannot do anything about him taking a picture and they cannot just gop up and accuse him of tking a picture because he has rights and it is not illegal. And asked why I had a car come out for this that this was not a matter to call police on. I felt like the one who is wrong and I even called my husband first to tell him at work and he told me to call the police.I understand it may be nothing but if it had well at least I know my son listens and does come to me and tells me if anybody approaches him talks to him or anything else he feels is strange.I also told him that he done the right thing to come to me and to continue to do so and reenforced not talking to strangers. I noticed I wrote in the house when the man was sitting in the front lawn in a chair taking the picture of my son riding down the road moreResolved Question: Can you tell me if this is racist?
I hate telemarketers. I'm on the do not call registry but they keep calling. I demand to be added to the do not call list when they call and they still try to sell me stuff. So when they start making grammatical errors, I correct their grammar and ask them if they have schools where they are. On a recent call the operator said, "Well, I don't know who you axed to be taken off the list but it wasn't me." I told him I didn't ax anyone. I would never hit someone with an ax. I informed him that I asked; not axed. And told him that an ax is something you cut a tree down with. Then I asked him if they have schools where he lives. He said he was sure he was more educated than I am. And that he is in law school. I then asked who would want a lawyer who spoke like he did. I made no reference to his race. I don't even know for sure what color he is. I suppose he is a black person but voice doesn't always identify someone's race. Nor do I care. I just don't like my cell phone to ring with an offer of a trip to Florida. Did I say anything racist? moreResolved Question: DO NOT CALL REGISTRY? TRUE OR FALSE?
I recently received an email that stated I needed to call 888-382-1222 if I wanted to keep my cell phone number private from the public (and telemarketing companies). Is this a hoax, or is it really a legitimate FTC (Federal Trade Commission) procedure? moreResolved Question: What can I do about this harassing caller?
I have my home number (and cell too) on the do not call registry. This phone number calls me literally up to 20 times per day on my cell phone. The number is 800-304-3100. Apparently they are a mortgage company. They have never left me a message, and when I try to call back there is an automated message asking me to enter in my account number, address, or tax ID number. I DO NOT have a mortgage nor have I ever had one. There is no way to actually speak to anyone. If you enter in your address (or phone number), the message says that it's invalid and then it disconnects me. I have tried to call them back on many, many occasions, only to get no where. I am frustrated. My gut tells me this is some sort of scam. I don't want to change my phone number, and I have called verizon wireless to discuss with them my problem. They said aside from changing my number, I could block all my incoming calls. They don't block just one number. Is there something else I can do? moreResolved Question: Need opinions?
I got this text on my cell saying I subscribed online for some texting service (which I didn't) I nipped it in the bud and got removed. Is there such a thing as getting your business on the Do Not Call List Registry. I know you can add your home and cell phone, but what about work? I am just getting tired of answering the phone to the annoying telemarketers. I work two part time jobs and I bet I get at least 20 of them a day for each employer. Is there any way to make them stop? moreResolved Question: How to stop these calls?
In the last two months I have started recieving non-stop phone calls for someone by the name of Troy Anthony on my cell phone. I have had collections calls from HSBC Bank, Fifth Third Bank, Walmart Card Services, etc....there has probably been 7-9 different companies calling. My cell phone is registerd on the dnc. (do not call registry) but these calls keep coming. Apparently this guy doesn't pay any of his bills! My problem is I need to stop these calls without changing my #. I am a horse trainer and because I am constantly traveling around my state my cell phone is the only number my clients have to reach me. I have tried nicely asking to be removed from the lists...that I don't know who this Troy person is. I have cussed companies out. I have threatened to report them because I am on the dnc....nothing is working. Help! moreResolved Question: automated telemarketing?
I have been getting calls on my cell phone almost everyday from a company selling multiple things. Through research I've found out they are selling satallite tv, vehicle warrenty, and debt reduction. They call my cell using different numbers all the time and when I ask to be removed from the list (you can press 1 to get thru to a representative) they hang up on me. Also, I found out through research it's nothing but a scam. How do I get them to stop calling? Other people have complained about this and are even on the DO NOT CALL registry but still get called all the time. moreResolved Question: LOL, silly forms of revenge?
So, to those that have read my other posts, my “Mr. Lets-be-friends” called me this morning to ask if I posted his phone number on the internet for some home based business because his cell phone is blowing up with calls. I did not… but thought that was a silly form of revenge on someone. Although I would imagine it would be really annoying. After I told him that it wasn’t me (honest it wasn’t) there was a loooong pause and he asks “are you doing ok” to which I responded yes, I’m fine. I texted him later with the No-call registry info and told him that if I was going to try to Irk him, I would stop by his house and put a “I LUV OBAMA” sticker on his truck. He texted back that he thought that was funny… I have no reason to try to get back at him, but thought the phone call thing was pretty funny…. So… what way have U irked your ex that wasn’t harmful, just annoying. Did it make you feel better? MMWYK... Too funny!! moreResolved Question: who do i report unwanted telemarketing calls to?

How do I stop calls to cell from scam car warranty company? I get calls from two numbers all the time on my cell phone. One starts with 562-289... and the other starts with 408-587... If you look them up online they are definitely spam calls. If you call the number back you just get a quick recording. I reported them to the FCC and tried to call the company that supplies their phone service without luck. I'm also on the Do Not Call registry. ATT Wireless won't let me block numbers either. I have an open relations hip with an incredibly hot guy but I dont know wether to continue the relationship or just end it. I got so freakishly enraged yesterday when I found he was invading my privacy. He checked my phone call history on my cell phone and with great balls told me to stop talking to one guy who appeared alot on my phone registry. That guy isn't my boyfriend but he doesnt believe that. This doesnt sound like an open relationship at all. I see other ppl cuz he is married but filing for divorsed and I said I wouldnt commit till he was divorsed. I've gotten 2 seperate calls from 2 different 13 digit phone numbers. I don't answer the phone when it happens because I normally don't get phone calls from numbers I don't recognise. I recently switched carriers and so my phone number is new, with very few people knowing it. The numbers are: 0114752773320 and 0114748107780. I made sure to put my new phone number on the Do Not Call registry, when I got it. Where are these numbers calling from? Is it some sort of scam? If it matters, this is occurring on my cell phone with AT&T. They also never leave a message of any sort. I never received these calls while I was with T-Mobile. moreResolved Question: I get calls 10-20 times a day from an 866 number.?
When I answer they hang up. I called them back a few times, I believe it's a call center for a collection agency. I tell them to stop calling me (they ask for a name of someone I am not familiar with), since I get a different person each time I'm assuming this is a large place. I said I would report them, and was told, "go ahead and report us, we'll still keep calling and harassing you." This is after they admitted they have the wrong number, they have no business with me, and the number is dialed via a computer. My (cell) phone rings continuously while I'm at work or during dinner, I don't want to turn it off in case it's a legitimate call, I just ignore it, but it's harassment, I know it's illegal, what can I do? I registered with the do not call registry and filed a complaint online, and when I googled the number I saw I wasn't the only one they are doing this to. moreResolved Question: can someone tellme where the website to stop (National Registry) to stop teleamarketers from calling is?

Yesterday, I received a call around mid-afternoon from a surveyor who wanted to ask about my political views, about 15 minutes later though after I hung up, it hit me that I had registered my cell number last July on the "National Do-Not Call Registry", and I was wondering if that would be just as much a violation as a telemarketer calling? I'm not planning to take any action now, since I should of complained about them calling my cell phone right then and there, but for the next time could I file a complaint? I've received opposite answers so far on the subject from my friends, some have said yes, while others have said that the surveyors are exempt from the Do Not Call List. moreResolved Question: Is calling National Do Not Call Registry from cell phone only to 888-382-1222 legit?? I kind of got "tricked" into buying magazine subscriptions for a year. The call was from Jim Barnett who is the opponent to Kansas governor Kathleen Sebelius. Where do politicians get off calling cell phones and leaving prerecorded voicemails? Can you imagine what it means to search for your one and only person who can save your life? Each year thousands of people are diagnosed with life-threatening diseases such as leukemia and other blood disorders. Medical treatment can cure these patients, but success is not assured. The transfer of healthy blood stem cells may be the last chance to safe their life. There was this African American woman named Sue, and she decided she was going to be a bone marrow donor. Sue went and got her tissue typed. Ten years down the road, Sue received a phone call informing her that they found someone who matched her tissue type. Sue changed her mind and said she didn't want to do it anymore, they then asked her if she wanted to know anything about the recipient. Sue said sure. It was a 9 year old girl from Italy, and she had leukemia. Sue decided to go through with it she went and got some bone marrow withdrawn, that little girl is now 19 years old. The cost for tissue typing ranges from $52 to $96.
